Summary:
At SAP, we harness the power of AI technology, integrating it with our extensive industry-focused data and deep process knowledge. Our vision is to embed advanced AI capabilities into every SAP application, transforming business operations. Large Language Models (LLMs) have the potential to revolutionize our work and product development. However, their limited capacity to utilize tabular data leaves a significant portion of enterprise data unexploited. It is SAP's mission to address this challenge within Business AI. Our objective is to adapt Foundation Models to SAP data, enabling our clients to enhance their business processes more effectively.
The Role:
• A unique opportunity to build, lead, manage, and mentor a team of skilled Applied AI Scientists and Data Engineers in our Business AI hub. Drive the development of the SAP Foundation Model for structured data integrated into various business applications.
• Be responsible for the success, quality, and delivery of Machine Learning components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and design, to define product requirements and ensure timely delivery of high-quality software products.
• Promote a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and excellence in software development.
• Serve as a problem solver to tackle organizational and process challenges, utilizing technical expertise to bridge gaps, streamline operations, and facilitate smooth execution of initiatives.
• Stay informed about AI and Data Engineering trends and apply this knowledge to enhance team performance and product quality.
• Contribute to thought leadership in a groundbreaking new data modality for Foundation Models and Generative AI.
What you bring
• PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related fields.
• 10+ years of experience in Data Science or similar roles, with a background in training large deep learning models and working with real-world data. Experience in leading teams and projects in complex environments.
• Expertise in Foundation and Transformer Models, with a solid understanding of Machine Learning algorithms and techniques, particularly regarding structured data applications in business.
• Deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities of applying Generative AI in a business context.
• Proven leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills, including setting and achieving team goals, delegating tasks, mentoring team members, and effectively managing communication within diverse teams. A track record of delivering results is essential.
• Ideally, professional experience with Machine Learning on structured data, such as in ERP or CRM domains. Experience with data privacy-preserving AI is a plus.
• Strong communication skills in English.
