Position Overview
We are offering up to three temporary academic positions known as "Bonn Junior Research Fellowships". These roles are designed for a duration of five years, with some opportunities potentially leading to tenure-track appointments. In exceptional circumstances, immediate tenure may be granted.

Employment Conditions
The terms of employment are governed by § 36 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (Hochschulgesetz des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen).

Research Opportunities
The fellowships aim to promote independent research initiatives by exceptional early-career scholars, akin to the research groups associated with the Max Planck Society or the Emmy Noether Program of the German Research Foundation (DFG).

Fellows will receive funding for travel and guest research during their initial tenure and will have access to additional resources from the Hausdorff Center.

Moreover, Bonn Junior Research Fellows are encouraged to mentor doctoral candidates.


Candidate Profile
We seek early-career researchers who possess a doctoral degree and are beginning to establish their own research agendas. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated scientific independence through relevant publications and possess some international research experience. They will also contribute to our advanced educational programs. Proficiency in the German language is not a requirement.

Research Focus
We are looking for candidates whose research interests align with the broad spectrum of the Cluster of Excellence and who can complement the existing expertise within our faculties.

Depending on their research focus, candidates will be affiliated with either the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences or the Faculty of Law and Economics at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn.
