About the Data Service Center (DSC)
As a vital internal service provider within GIZ, the Data Service Center (DSC) delivers extensive data services and consultancy to international cooperation initiatives. Our offerings include assistance in data collection, management, and analysis for diverse objectives, such as impact evaluation, project planning, geospatial analysis, and data dissemination. Through these services, the DSC plays a crucial role in advancing GIZ's primary aim of promoting data-driven decision-making solutions and capabilities for projects and partner organizations globally.
Current Transformation Initiatives
The DSC has recently undergone significant internal modifications to enhance its workflow and knowledge management frameworks. A key component of this transformation involves establishing a role-based framework with defined responsibilities across areas such as service delivery, procurement, partnerships, and human resources. In addition, the team adopts an agile methodology for quarterly resource allocation and strategic alignment.
Internship Responsibilities
To facilitate this change process, the DSC is looking for a dedicated working student to assist in implementing structural modifications in the DSC's workflow and knowledge management, as well as to support the newly defined DSC roles in various execution tasks:
- Assist in revising the DSC's workflow and knowledge management framework, primarily executed within the MS365 environment.
- Participate in various communication initiatives to boost the DSC's visibility within the organization, including updating the internal information portal and creating presentation materials.
- Organize meetings both virtually and in-person, including documentation, agenda updates, and follow-up actions.
- Support overarching tasks of the DSC roles, such as updating resources (e.g., concept boards, MS Teams documents), managing tasks on MS Planner, designing informational materials, and proofreading.
- Contribute to the standardization of DSC's service delivery processes and assist in operational tasks such as procurement of goods and services.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A university-level degree (Bachelor or Master) in Social Sciences, Event Management, or a related field, or equivalent qualifications through relevant work experience.
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities, with the capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Basic project management skills, particularly in an agile and international work setting, are advantageous.
- Experience with MS365 tools (e.g., MS Teams, Planner, SharePoint).
- Excellent communication skills in both German and English; proficiency in French is a plus.

Compensation
The position offers a monthly stipend of €2,134.52 (gross).
