About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled R&D Engineer to join our team at VRS Recruitment. As a key player in the industry, we help laboratories around the world to enable scientific advancements in various areas such as healthcare, environment, food safety, and water quality.

With ongoing developments in physics and industry, the requirements for performance of these instruments are continuously growing, and we strive to convert the most promising technological concepts into real products.

Our goal is to enable our customers to make the world cleaner, healthier, and safer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate, develop, and implement mass spectrometry-based technology
  • Produce design specifications and technical reports
  • Work on bespoke and commercial mass spectrometers, including ion optics, ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems, and electrodynamic components
  • Carry out scientific data analysis and bring an innovative approach to working in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced environment
Requirements
  • MSc or PhD or equivalent in Physics or Chemistry (or related)
  • Background in design and development of complex analytical equipment (mass spectrometry, ion optics, electron microscopes, high vacuum systems, electromechanical equipment, etc.)
  • Basic scripting skills (R, Python, C++, MATLAB, etc.) are desirable
  • Fluency in English, German language would be an advantage
