Job Summary:
M.C. Dean is seeking a highly skilled Senior Security Design Engineer to join our team in Stuttgart, Germany. As a Senior Security Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and deploying various technologies to improve our customers' physical security posture, managing technical requirements, and leading the regional engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop systems and project requirements based on clients' needs
- Collaborate with clients, partners, vendors, and internal teams to provide best-in-class solutions
- Design high-level systems with required technical specifications
- Prepare new builds and projects drawings, specifications, technology product selection, installation sequence planning, commissioning testing/commissioning scripts, process streamlining, and improvements
- Define and determine design projects scope of work based on customers' needs
- Review Request for Proposals (RFP) documentation, Statement of Work, and Client Specifications provided for new project bids
- Develop Bill of Materials (BOM) and Forecast Engineering Time for new project bids
- Develop procedures to validate system configuration, test plans, deployment/commissioning plans, and administration procedures
- Develop and improve design standards
- Lead complex projects, mentor, and oversee project execution through design excellence processes, ensuring high delivery quality
- Design, sustain, and provide technical support for deployed security systems
- Partner with engineering leadership to identify skill gaps and prioritize training initiatives
- Collaborate with installation, deployment, and Project Management teams to ensure standards are maintained, provide recommendations, and guidance on solution deployments, and assist in resolving issues at a high level
- Collaborate with other engineering teams on new technology developments or changes in customers' environments that may require new solutions
- Working knowledge and/or certification with electronic security systems and applications like CCURE, Genetec, Lenel, Milestone, HID, Axis, and/or others
- Help identify, as needed, new technologies and/or changes in customer environments that may require new solutions and present them to senior engineering management to be developed
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on security engineering needs and requirements for system performance, installations, and sustainment programs
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering adjacent (Electrical, Computer Science)
- 5-7 years of security systems and design experience
- Hands-on experience designing and deploying Physical Security Systems
- Experience with defining engineering scope of work and leading engineering and technical teams
- Leadership and management skills
- Experience designing and maintaining engineering solutions
- High level of expertise with AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Reliable attendance at customer site during work hours required by customer
- Self-motivated and driven
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced collaborative environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel up to 25%
