Production Lead for Esports Events

As a Line Producer, you will be at the forefront of esports event production. Your role will involve collaborating closely with the production team, broadcast crew, and external vendors to deliver exceptional shows both in-studio and on location. You will play a pivotal role in the production process, overseeing crew recruitment, budget creation, management, and allocation, ensuring that all productions are executed safely, creatively, on budget, and on schedule.
You will be responsible for forecasting, budget management, and financial oversight of our esports initiatives across the EMEA region. As a key member of the production team, you will work alongside various producers to optimize resource allocation, make informed financial decisions, and maintain high-quality standards for our shows. Collaboration with global and local finance teams will be essential to efficiently track costs across multiple business units. Your reporting line will be to the Sr. Manager of Esports Production Management.
Travel Requirements: Up to 20%
Working Hours: May include weekends and late hours based on production needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the primary communication link, coordinating between internal teams and external partners, supporting Event Producers, and managing Production Managers.
- Oversee the forecasting and budgeting processes for all productions, ensuring precise tracking and risk management using historical data.
- Lead the vendor selection process, negotiating contracts for venues, services, and equipment while managing staffing and production vendors throughout all stages of production.
- Collaborate with finance teams to create efficient workflows and ensure timely payments to vendors.
- Facilitate communication and act as an escalation point between internal stakeholders, remote broadcast teams, and production partners.
- Manage the studio environment, optimizing functionality, expenditure, and resource distribution across all teams.
- Supervise and coordinate all elements of live studio broadcasts, ensuring flawless execution from pre-production to live airing.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of experience in production, particularly in live broadcast studio operations.
- Demonstrated success in managing live broadcast productions in a dynamic studio environment.
- Proven experience in developing and overseeing multiple production budgets, including expense tracking and cost monitoring.
- Extensive experience in negotiating, hiring, and managing both union and non-union crew members.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to handle high-pressure situations during live broadcasts.
- Hands-on experience as a line producer or senior production manager in a studio context.
- Solid financial management skills within a production framework.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of experience in production.
- Background in production accounting or experience as a production accountant.
- Experience with large-scale events is advantageous.
- Proficiency in the German language is a plus.
- Familiarity with multi-camera setups and real-time graphics integration.
- Knowledge of live broadcast technologies, including cameras, lighting, and sound equipment.
- Experience collaborating with corporate finance, accounting, legal, and insurance departments.
