Position Overview
Are you skilled in mastering and implementing cutting-edge technologies in digital commerce and marketplaces? Can you engage in enterprise transformation discussions with senior executives from Fortune 500 companies? Do you possess the ability to mentor team members on emerging technologies while architecting scalable solutions? Are you ready to collaborate with our delivery managers on the technical facets of significant client implementations worldwide? The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of experience in solution architecture, technology implementation, consultative selling, and hands-on full lifecycle IT systems development, implementation, and project management. You will provide direct leadership to the technical team in a rapidly growing services company. Your role will involve effectively managing customer expectations and maintaining clear communication with delivery teams. You will lead a talented group of engineers, serving as their mentor and guide. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively with teams across different geographical locations.
This position offers 100% remote work.
Fluency in the German language is a requirement.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
Ensure that the solutions delivered by McFadyen are well-architected, developed, tested, and successfully implemented. Support business development efforts, including sales calls and preparing technical responses with project scope, cost estimates, timelines, and resource requirements in written proposals. Maintain high levels of client satisfaction. Actively seek opportunities to expand our business within existing accounts. Assist Delivery Managers and Project Managers in forecasting staffing, budget, and resource needs for projects.Additional Responsibilities
Collaborate with sales prospects and existing clients to devise innovative technology solutions for critical business challenges. Clearly articulate solutions and provide cost and timeline estimates in partnership with other McFadyen team members. Inspire a diverse group of energetic team members to achieve their best. Participate in the recruitment of senior technical staff. Conduct performance reviews for certain staff members. Enhance our DevOps and related infrastructure and processes to improve systems, tools, automation, and methodologies. Promote skill diversification within our team across various technologies, platforms, and business models. Lead the ongoing implementation of new industry standards and development methodologies, including Agile and Kanban, to boost responsiveness and growth. Maintain a strong focus on client success. Stay informed about technology trends and developments driven by personal passion. Recommend best practices based on experience, research, frameworks, design patterns, and visionary thinking. Engage with our global team through regular videoconferences and occasional early morning or late evening calls. Drive team certifications, specializations, and maintain software partner status. Occasionally travel to client, prospect, or partner sites and related conferences. Travel across McFadyen offices to mentor the technical team.Required Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
Development experience in one or more of the following technologies: Java, Python, RoR, PHP, C#. Familiarity with microservices-based architectures and frameworks such as Spring Boot, BFF, MuleSoft, and Apache Service Mix. Experience with Cloud Computing platforms, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases, including Oracle, Dynamo, MariaDB, MySQL, or MongoDB. Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React, or Node.Additional Qualifications
Experience with Progressive Web Applications (PWA) using Vue, Magento React, or similar technologies. Knowledge of DevOps and Infrastructure as Code practices, including CI/CD, Monitoring, and Alerting tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, and Jenkins. Background in eCommerce, marketplaces, cloud solutions, Continuous Integration, DevOps, middleware, mobile, and content management. Familiarity with enterprise eCommerce platforms such as Oracle Commerce ATG & Endeca, Oracle Commerce Cloud, Magento, SAP Hybris, and Shopify Plus, as well as marketplace solutions like Mirakl. Experience integrating commerce solutions with retail software such as ERP, OMS, CRM, WMS, Payment Gateways, and Tax Management Solutions. Knowledge of marketing technology solutions, including marketing automation and Data Management Platforms (DMP). Experience with related technologies such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Commerce Tools, and Elastic Path. Experience architecting Microservices-based solutions. Exposure to headless architectures, including Single Page Applications (SPA) and Progressive Web Applications (PWA). Familiarity with innovative technologies such as AI/ML and last-mile solutions in retail/eCommerce. Strong background in web systems integration. Proven leadership experience in high-visibility projects. Ability to quickly adapt to new and evolving cloud technologies. Experience with various methodologies, including Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, and Rapid Prototyping. Management skills in resource planning, setting expectations, scheduling, and mentoring.
