Senior Software Engineer

Barclay Simpson is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Software Engineering Team in Hamburg, Germany.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop large, complex software systems using engineering principles.
  • Lead the software architecture design and systems engineering processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful software development and deployment.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.
  • Identify and implement software engineering process improvements.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in Java (JEE) development.
  • Proficiency with tools such as IntelliJ, Eclipse, Git, Subversion, Maven, Ant, Jenkins, and Jira.
  • Experience with UML design tools.
  • Fluent in German (written and spoken).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Apache, Tomcat, Weblogic, or Karaf.
  • Knowledge of Docker and/or Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of Web Service Security (WSS) and PKI infrastructures.
  • Expertise in high-volume data processing.
  • Familiarity with public transport ticketing or financial bookkeeping systems.
  • Experience in Oracle or PostgreSQL databases (table design, queries, optimization).
  • Proficiency in XML, JSON, and front-end technologies such as JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.

Education & Qualifications:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Maths, or a related field.
