About the Role
Fugro's Legal function is a global team that provides legal support to the organization and businesses across various locations. As a Legal Counsel, you will be part of this team and work closely with colleagues to share best practices and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on commercial contracts with clients and support commercial and business development teams in tender processes.
- Support project teams with contentious matters during the execution phase of a project.
- Advise and provide training on Fugro's internal policies and guidelines.
- Develop procedural improvements and standardization to enhance efficiency in legal support.
- Manage outside counsel in Germany.
- Collaborate with other legal team members on legal and related matters, such as intellectual property and compliance.

Requirements
- A degree in German civil law.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience at a law firm or as an in-house lawyer.
- Good knowledge of German contract law and experience in drafting and negotiating contracts.
- Experience operating in an international environment.
- Understanding of industry standards (such as FIDIC/VOB/VOL) is a plus.
- Strong analytical, counseling, and communication skills, and sound legal, ethical, and commercial judgment.
- Team-player, proactive, flexible, and with a practical mindset.
- Excellent written and spoken German and English.
