Neurobiology Postdoctoral Fellow

Position Overview:
The laboratories led by Prof. Dr. Andreas Feigenspan and Prof. Dr. Johann Helmut Brandstätter are dedicated to exploring the mechanisms of synaptic transmission at the initial synapse of the visual system. This research employs a variety of approaches, including anatomical, molecular biological, physiological, and computational techniques.
We invite you to become part of an international team of experimental neurobiologists who maintain strong collaborations with both medical and technical faculties, alongside access to numerous core facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engagement in electrophysiological and imaging experiments aligned with ongoing research initiatives.
- Integration of experimental findings, data analysis, and modeling.
- Instruction of undergraduate and graduate students through lab courses and lectures.
- Development of research projects and securing funding.
Candidate Profile:
Essential Qualifications:
- PhD in natural sciences or life sciences, preferably in neurobiology.
- Fundamental understanding of neurophysiology.
- Proficiency in English.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Expertise in data analysis and programming languages such as Python, R, or Matlab.
Additional Information:
This position is initially funded for three years, with the possibility of extension. Salary and benefits are determined according to public service positions in Germany (TV-L).
