Position Overview

In this role, you will:

  • Formulate, execute, and uphold health and safety protocols in accordance with German legislation and corporate standards.
  • Perform thorough risk evaluations and implement preventive strategies to mitigate workplace dangers.
  • Examine incidents to identify root causes, manage compensation claims, and apply corrective measures to avert future occurrences.
  • Continuously assess and revise safety guidelines to ensure alignment with industry standards and regulatory updates.
  • Establish and enforce comprehensive environmental policies to comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Oversee waste management and recycling efforts, spearheading initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impact while conducting regular audits to ensure sustainability objectives are met.
  • Create and deliver extensive health, safety, and environmental training programs for both new hires and existing staff, fostering a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement effective emergency response strategies.
  • Exemplify a strong dedication to health, safety, and environmental stewardship.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the health, safety, and environmental team and other personnel.
  • Craft and execute strategic health, safety, and environmental plans that align with the organization’s goals.
  • Build and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, management, regulatory agencies, and local communities.
  • Serve as a primary resource for health, safety, and environmental inquiries, offering expert guidance and support.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant experience in a similar capacity, ideally within the manufacturing industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of German health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Strong grasp of health, safety, and environmental management systems, risk assessment techniques, and incident investigation methodologies.
  • Ability to engage and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven leadership and organizational capabilities.
  • Capacity to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • High attention to detail and precision.
  • A commitment to ongoing improvement and professional growth.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and health, safety, and environmental management software.
  • Fluency in both English and German is essential.
