Overview of the Position

KG Organization Transformation of Industry Business Unit Compression Employment Type Full-time Experience Level Experienced ProfessionalDaily Responsibilities As a Product Design Engineer (f/m/d) within the Product Lifecycle Engineering team, you will utilize your CAD skills and analytical mindset to innovate and enhance product features that elevate the performance, dependability, and cost-effectiveness of our centrifugal compressor range, with a particular emphasis on single-shaft models. You will act as a technical consultant to the product management and production engineering divisions, assisting in the resolution of design challenges. This international role provides a platform for you to make a substantial impact on the design of all legacy compressors within the TC fleet, influencing both new unit and service applications, and directly contributing to the company's performance objectives and energy transition initiatives.
Key Contributions
- Employ CAD tools to design and modify single-shaft compressors in support of modernization efforts or other product enhancement projects.
- Engage in the Product Development Process (PDP) by proposing innovative development concepts, participating in PDP gate evaluations, and supporting the Product Management team in implementing new product strategies.
- Provide guidance to production engineering and technical field support teams to address technical challenges within the compressor fleet.
- Maintain a high level of expertise in mechanical design and compressor technology, including advanced manufacturing capabilities.
- Educate the TC Engineering team on the design principles associated with single-shaft compressors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering.
- Over 10 years of experience in the design of rotating machinery, with specific expertise in centrifugal compressors. Preference for experience with our compressor models: STC-SVm, STC-SV/SH, DATUM, or legacy products.
- Proficient in using NX for creating 3D solid models, along with a solid understanding of drafting standards for general dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Experienced in applying design for manufacture (DFM) principles to ensure designs are optimized for cost, manufacturability, and functionality.
- Capable of challenging established norms in design processes and standards.
- Able to simplify and articulate complex issues in a way that is easily understood by non-specialists.
- Fluent in German and English, with a willingness to travel domestically and internationally (less than 15%).
