Position Overview:
The World Food Programme (WFP) is on the forefront of combating hunger and enhancing lives globally. We are currently looking for a Consultant for Innovation Ventures (SDGx) to join our Innovation Division.
About the WFP Innovation Accelerator:
Recognized as a leader in humanitarian efforts, WFP reaches millions daily, providing essential food assistance and working with communities to enhance nutrition and resilience. The WFP Innovation Accelerator, awarded for its groundbreaking work, focuses on identifying and scaling innovative solutions to eradicate global hunger.
Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will report to the Head of SDGx Acceleration and will be responsible for:
- Facilitating Accelerator Activities: Oversee the planning and execution of core activities, ensuring effective operational coordination and support for workshops and boot camps.
- Driving Innovation: Assist in guiding project teams from conception to execution, utilizing methodologies such as human-centered design and lean start-up principles.
- Enhancing Collaborations: Foster partnerships within the local ecosystem and with global innovation communities to amplify impact.
- Supporting Operations: Prepare analytical content for management discussions and engage with stakeholders on innovation-related topics.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A bachelor’s degree, preferably in business or international development.
- A minimum of three years of relevant international experience in innovation or start-up environments.
- Fluency in English, with knowledge of another UN language being advantageous.
Technical Skills:
Candidates should demonstrate:
- Expertise in supply chain management within humanitarian contexts.
- A strong understanding of technological innovations and their application in business models.
- A proven ability to manage projects effectively in dynamic environments.
