Transportation Coordinator (Logistics) U.S. Army Europe and Africa Who Can Apply:

Current internal local national employees across Germany, including all local national staff of the U.S. Forces, as well as external local national applicants residing in Germany.

Key Responsibilities:

The incumbent will function as a Transportation Coordinator, executing various logistical support tasks related to personal property management. Responsibilities include:

  • Addressing and resolving complex issues related to personal property shipments, including owner preferences, property types, entitlements, and logistical arrangements.
  • Providing guidance and assistance to Department of Defense personnel and their families regarding shipping and storage of personal belongings.
  • Conducting quality control inspections to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Facilitating customs clearance and inspections for outgoing shipments as required.
  • Performing re-weighing of shipments when necessary.
  • Delivering briefings to military personnel on travel authorizations and personal property matters.
  • Utilizing the Defense Personal Property System (DPS) for data management and reporting.

The role demands a high level of professionalism, tact, and diplomacy while interacting with military members and civilians regarding their personal property needs.

Qualifications:

Applicants must meet the following educational and experience criteria:

  • **Experience Level I:** Two years of relevant experience plus one year in a similar role.
  • **Experience Level II:** One year of relevant experience plus one year in a similar role.
  • **Experience Level III and above:** No additional experience required.

All candidates must possess a valid driver's license (Class B) and be able to obtain a military motor vehicle operator's license. Proficiency in office automation is essential.

Language Proficiency:

English proficiency at Level C1 and German proficiency at Level B1 are required.

Employment Conditions:

Occasional temporary duty travel may be required. The position involves physical demands, including lifting up to 10 lbs. Telework may be available based on situational needs.
