Transportation Coordinator (Logistics) Location: Wiesbaden, Germany Eligibility Criteria

WHO MAY APPLY:
Current INTERNAL Local National Employees throughout Germany, including all Local National employees of the U.S. Forces in Germany, such as U.S. Air Force and AAFES-Europe, as well as EXTERNAL Local National Applicants residing in Germany.

Key Responsibilities

The incumbent will function as a Transportation Coordinator, executing various logistical support tasks related to personal property. Responsibilities include:
(a) Addressing and resolving a diverse array of complex issues related to the preferences of property owners, types and quantities of property, entitlements, shipping or storage decisions, and compliance with various regulations.
(b) Providing guidance and assistance to Department of Defense personnel of all ranks and their families regarding personal property logistics.
(c) Conducting Quality Control Inspections in line with Total Quality Assurance Program (TQAP) standards.
(d) Performing inspections and customs clearance for outbound shipments as needed.
(e) Facilitating the re-weighing of shipments when required.
Additionally, the role requires the ability to communicate effectively and provide counsel to military members and civilians on property shipment and storage processes.
From travel orders, the incumbent will determine authorized shipments according to current regulations and offer advice on weight authorizations, unaccompanied baggage allowances, and shipping restrictions.
Furthermore, the position involves assessing shipping methods for both domestic and international transport, selecting the most economical modes of shipment, and ensuring compliance with funding and special instructions.

Qualifications

Education & Training Levels:

C-5:
E&T Level I: Requires 2 years of relevant experience plus 1 year of experience in a related field.

E&T Level II: Requires 1 year of relevant experience plus 1 year of experience in a related field.

E&T Level III and above: No additional experience required.

Applicants must possess a valid driver's license class B and be able to obtain a military motor vehicle operator's license.
Office Automation Skills are essential.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY LEVEL:
English Language Proficiency Level C1 and German Language Proficiency Level B1 are required.

Occasional temporary duty travel (TDY) may be required (5%).
Heavy lifting up to 10 lbs. may be necessary.
Situational telework may be possible.
