Role Overview:
The Quality Assurance Specialist plays a crucial role in managing and executing thorough evaluations of METRO entities globally, including Metro Countries, International Trading Offices, and FSD companies, in accordance with METRO's rigorous Global Quality Standards. This position empowers the individual to make decisive actions, focusing on assessing compliance and quality performance, which culminates in the detailed management of evaluation reports. These reports are essential for communicating actionable insights and compliance status to senior management, thereby informing strategic decisions aimed at ongoing quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and conduct unannounced assessments (Metro and FSD entities) and scheduled Quality Management System (QMS) evaluations, serving as the lead assessor.
- Execute Global Quality Assessments remotely (Quality Management Systems assessments) or on-site (stores, depots, FSD).
- Align assessment findings with the assessed entities at the conclusion of each evaluation.
- Prepare and present the assessment report to the Senior Vice President of Quality Assurance (excluding self-conducted audits).
- Monitor and achieve Global Quality Assessment KPIs.
- Facilitate the calibration and training of assessors within the Quality Assurance community (5-6 additional assessors on-the-job training).
- Assist in developing Quality Assurance documentation pertinent to the assessment process as needed (assessment-related procedures, QA Standards, etc.).
- Review and suggest updates to the checklists on an annual basis.
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of HACCP and Global Quality Assurance standards.
- Experience in implementing and auditing Quality Management Systems.
- Completion of lead auditor training.
- A minimum of 3 years of audit experience related to Quality Management Systems in a multinational context.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including strong presentation and report writing abilities.
- Self-motivated, determined, and confident in your capabilities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Thorough understanding of METRO's Quality Assurance requirements (QA Manuals and Standards).
- A strong interest in International Food Quality and Safety Standards for wholesale.
- Solid technical knowledge in food quality and safety.
- Fluency in English (both verbal and written).
