Senior Engineering Manager, Platform

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to join our Developer Experience team at Personio. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will play a critical role in shaping our engineering culture and driving the development of our HR platform.
Key Responsibilities- Research and engineer new ways to improve developer satisfaction and increase velocity by providing efficient tooling and challenging the status quo.
- Foster relationships and partner with product teams to support platform-specific migrations, learning from and understanding their challenges to develop result-oriented solutions.
- Act as a technical leader, improving the team's engineering culture by defining best practices on technical debt, refactoring, design patterns, coding principles, code review, and pair programming.
- Drive the platform forward with new ideas and strategies that maintain quality, reliability, security, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Partner with other engineering managers to keep them informed with technical details across multiple projects, ensuring the team delivers results in an iterative fashion that promotes experimentation and shipping to learn.
- 5+ years of management experience, with a strong track record of managing and growing high-performing teams.
- Strong leadership skills that attract, motivate, and inspire new engineers to achieve exceptional results.
- Comfortable owning ambiguous problems and defining the road ahead.
- Expertise in working with PHP codebases, ideally with Laravel, and experience with build ecosystems.
- Opinionated on development processes and best practices, with a passion for optimizing and automating them.
- Data-driven, with a focus on using metrics to define and evaluate engineering design decisions.
- Excellent written and spoken English (C1/C2 CEFR scale).
