Unlock Innovation in Adhesive Materials

The Novel & Functional Materials laboratory at tesa is driving groundbreaking developments in functional adhesives and coatings. In an international environment, novel materials and technologies are utilized to create innovative products. This role focuses on releasable adhesives for improving sustainability in adhesive bonding (debonding on demand).

  • Explore and apply novel chemical and physical concepts for debonding of adhesive bonds and related adhesives
  • Develop products and processes based on proven concepts
  • Investigate and implement physical activation methods for release of adhesive bonds
  • Coordinate knowledge transfer in an international R&D organization
  • Set up and run relevant application tests to characterize the properties of debondable adhesive tapes
  • Initiate and manage R&D-projects
  • Collaborate with external partners from science and industry
  • Contribute to intellectual property rights management

Requirements

  • University degree, preferably PhD, in Chemistry or Material Science (with focus on polymers)
  • Professional experience in the field of polymer- or adhesive technology, as well as related material know-how, advantageously also in the fields of electrochemistry (e.g. polymer electrolyte development for batteries, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), voltammetry, open circuit potential (OCP/OCV))
  • Solid practical know-how in the area of polymer compound development and/or polymerization
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an innovative attitude
  • Team spirit and service mentality
  • Full professional proficiency of English, German language skills appreciated
