Job Summary:

The ESOH Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the safety and health compliance of all on-site contract activities. This includes performing safety and health inspections, training employees on relevant safety concepts, conducting investigations on safety and health incidents, and tracking and trending safety and health data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform safety and health inspections and assessments of shops, parking areas, and hazardous materials/waste storage areas, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Train employees on relevant safety concepts and requirements, such as fall protection and Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO).
  • Conduct investigations on safety and health incidents and recommend corrective actions.
  • Track and trend safety and health data.
  • Assist shops with identifying proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety-related equipment.
  • Monitor the medical surveillance program for the site.
  • Strive to continuously improve the site's safety and health culture.
  • Assist environment personnel when necessary, including performing environment inspections and conducting environmental release investigations.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies, and renewing certifications.
  • Maintain a daily timesheet and daily manning report and ensure correct times are accurate.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location. NACI required.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a US Passport.
  • Three years of experience in environment, safety, and health or equivalent field; military setting is preferred, but not required.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuing education and training in environment, safety, and occupational health.
  • Industrial hygiene and radiation safety a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Must be able to meet and maintain all base access security requirements.
  • Must be able to meet and maintain all Logistic Information System (LIS) access requirements (Common Access Card).

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English and preferably German.
  • Excellent computer, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills required. Computer skills include a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
