ESOH Specialist

Purpose: The ESOH Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safety and health compliance of all on-site contract activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct safety and health inspections and assessments of shops, parking areas, and hazardous materials/waste storage areas, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Train employees on relevant safety concepts and requirements, including fall protection and Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO).
- Investigate safety and health incidents and recommend corrective actions.
- Track and trend safety and health data.
- Assist shops with identifying proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety-related equipment.
- Monitor the medical surveillance program for the site.
- Strive to continuously improve the site's safety and health culture.
- Assist environment personnel when necessary, including performing environment inspections and conducting environmental release investigations.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies, and renewing certifications.
- Maintain a daily timesheet and daily manning report, ensuring correct times are accurate.
Qualification & Experience Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location. NACI required.
- Must have or be able to obtain a US Passport.
- Three years of experience in environment, safety, and health or equivalent field; military setting is preferred, but not required.
- Demonstrate commitment to continuing education and training in environment, safety, and occupational health.
- Industrial hygiene and radiation safety a plus, but not mandatory.
- Must be able to meet and maintain all base access security requirements.
- Must be able to meet and maintain all Logistic Information System (LIS) access requirements (Common Access Card).
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English and preferably German.
- Excellent computer, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills required. Computer skills include a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Physical Demands:
- Stooping, sitting, kneeling, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds by themselves-51+ with the assistance of another person, touching dexterity (hand and finger), carrying, clear seeing-general, close vision, color perception, clear speech, driving vehicle, moving objects.
- Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively up to a 48-hour work week.
- Must be able to endure long hours (overtime as required).
Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and outside weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to situations where risk of electrical shock and vibration exist. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
- May be required to deploy on missions on short notice at the direction of the PMO.
