Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Road Construction Specialist to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for ensuring the construction and maintenance of our roads and highways meet the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Laying out work, determining surface preparation, selecting materials, and accomplishing construction or repair to meet accepted trade practices.
  • Constructing asphalt pavements, parking areas, walkways, and other similar surfaces.
  • Applying and leveling gravel, crushed stone, sand, and other materials.
  • Making repairs to damaged asphalt surfaces.
  • Removing worn and damaged asphalt and ensuring subsurface removal and replacement with material matching the surrounding area.
  • Operating asphalt paving machines, road rollers, and other equipment.
  • Driving motor vehicles for transporting equipment, supplies, material, and personnel.
Requirements
  • Completed vocational training in the corresponding trade with a duration of at least 30 months.
  • 5 years of specialized experience or 8 years of experience with at least 3 years at the wage group 5 or equivalent level.
  • German driver's license class B.
  • English Language Proficiency Level A1 and German Language Proficiency Level B2.
Working Conditions

Heavy lifting up to 40 lbs. and occasionally up to 80 lbs. required. On-call duty required.
