Role Overview

The Senior Payments Manager is responsible for achieving strategic goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) Directs the development, product exploration, and strategic planning for the Payments team, focusing on both immediate and long-term objectives Balances the interests of customers (NPS), employees (ESS), and investors (cost) by fostering ongoing enhancements across all areas Cultivates a culture of continuous improvement and optimization within Payments, both operationally and strategically; exemplifies high standards of personal and professional conduct to motivate and challenge colleagues Oversees daily coaching and management of the Payments team Leads and is accountable for the execution of specific projects and initiatives as assigned by management

Key Responsibilities

Manages relationships and negotiations with service providers (both existing and new) Organizes and leads regular Business Review meetings with service providers Converts data analytics and reports into actionable insights and recommendations to enhance customer experience; collaborates with tech and product stakeholders to advocate for product prioritization Conducts reconciliation of payments, settlements, and payouts Generates regular reports, presentations, and insights on payment-related trends, including industry research, innovations, and analysis to identify threats and opportunities; supports the team in optimizing Payments strategies and projects such as: Global P&F strategy, Cost of sales strategy, Fraud and risk management strategy, and Customer Centricity Adopts a risk-based approach to strategic projects and initiatives, balancing business growth, acceptance, and cost optimization with risk considerations such as fraud risk and customer impact Represents Payments & Fraud interests in relevant internal and external meetings and events

Candidate Profile

At least 5 years of experience in relevant payments functions Extensive knowledge and experience in Payments/Fraud/Checkout, including trends and regulations like chargebacks and PSD2 Committed to resolving customer challenges by creating a straightforward and secure booking and payment process through technology and automation Proficient in data analysis and querying, with strong skills in Excel/Google Sheets and SQL Capable of assessing the success of features post-delivery Employs an experimental and data-driven approach; adept at diagnosing issues, identifying trends, and recommending action plans for resolution Passionate about customer engagement and dedicated to exceeding customer expectations Strong analytical and quantitative abilities, with the capacity to leverage data and metrics to support assumptions, evaluate outcomes, and enhance performance Proven history of ownership, delivering results, and swiftly implementing ideas in a dynamic online environment Ability to collaborate across functions with engineering, sales, design, data analytics, and finance teams to conceptualize, develop, and launch innovative user-facing features and internal tools Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience in engaging and influencing decision-making at all organizational levels and in various contexts A degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting is advantageous
