Mathematician Underwriter for French-Speaking Markets

We are seeking a highly skilled Mathematician Underwriter to join our team at Hannover Re. As a Business Mathematician for Reinsurance Solutions, you will play a key role in managing our worldwide customers and providing pioneering solutions in the form of tailor-made reinsurance products.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the entire reinsurance placement process, from sourcing business to pricing and final decision-making.
- Sourcing, accepting, and evaluating requests for structured reinsurance concepts and creating tailor-made solutions for insurance customers.
- Managing and renewing existing reinsurance contracts and planning, steering, controlling, and coordinating business data in accordance with defined quality standards.
- Conducting actuarial analyses and projections to manage the profitability of reinsurance contracts.
- Cultivating contacts with existing and new business partners, including customers and brokers, and meeting them personally on a regular basis.
- Collaborating with colleagues in underwriting departments, local offices, and service departments, such as actuarial, accounting, and natural catastrophe modeling.
- Master's degree in economic mathematics.
- Interest in actuarial and economic issues.
- Practical experience in the insurance or financial sector, preferably through internships or work experience.
- A high degree of independence and flexibility.
- English and French at a business fluent level and German at a conversational level.
- Further foreign language skills are advantageous.
- Willingness to travel worldwide, approximately five to six times a year.
- Analytical and solution-driven mindset.
- High level of commitment and strong intercultural communication skills.
- A hybrid work model with flexible working hours and 30 days of annual leave.
- Up to 20 days a year for work abroad within the EU Member States, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland.
