Role OverviewAs the leader of our Europe Product Innovation Design team, you will enhance our product design capabilities and pioneer next-generation payment services. In your capacity as Director, you will oversee a team of UX designers and collaborate with product and technology divisions, driving market-responsive, purpose-fit use cases and value propositions.
Your responsibilities will include engaging with major tech and fintech clients, as well as issuers, acquirers, and merchants, to guide design initiatives aimed at understanding, conceptualizing, and developing top-tier experiences across a diverse range of consumer, business, government, digital, and data product portfolios. You will lead your team in precisely defining user journeys to secure a competitive edge for new features, ensuring that enterprise customer and end-user experience designs comply with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Build, motivate, and manage a multidisciplinary product design team with expertise in research, UX/UI, rapid prototyping, piloting, and testing.
- Influence the business by expanding its understanding of existing challenges and long-term opportunities. Address undefined and unique issues through longitudinal and iterative cross-sectional research, analysis, and applied strategy.
- Advance product and UX strategies while being mindful of dynamic market shifts in North America, emerging technologies, and design trends.
- Oversee the design process for the product innovation pipeline – from discovery and design to launch, testing, and optimization – to deliver outstanding pilot experiences within regulatory frameworks.
- Establish and nurture new research, design, and technology partnerships necessary for large-scale execution and delivery.
- Effectively communicate within and beyond your role, showcasing the ability to influence executive leadership.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align diverse perspectives and ensure meaningful business outcomes.
- Foster strong relationships with technology and business partners, working collaboratively to translate business strategies into innovative products and user experiences.
- Significant professional experience in a comparable role within digital payment solutions, fintech, or mobile money sectors, with a proven track record of successful product launches.
- In-depth knowledge of user-centered design methodologies and the ability to lead design and research teams in creating innovative digital products and experiences optimized for North American users, both consumer and enterprise.
- Experience with consumer digital payment platforms and systems prevalent in Europe (wallets, e-commerce, and point-of-sale).
- Familiarity with key categories such as open banking, data, digital lending, digital identity, checkout, and cryptocurrency or similar.
- Experience in developing products that leverage AI models or AI-enhanced capabilities is advantageous.
- Strong competency in leading product innovation, design, and management.
- Demonstrated commitment to building and mentoring diverse teams and promoting product inclusion best practices.
- Robust strategic vision with extensive analytical skills to identify growth opportunities and market trends.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to bridge gaps between various business functions.
