About Us
AnalogDream e.V., located in Berlin Mitte and spearheaded by Jonathan Apelbaum, delves into themes of gender, sexuality, and intimacy through innovative oil paintings that blend traditional artistry with cutting-edge interactive technologies. Our unique 'cognitive' paintings, crafted over six years, respond dynamically to their surroundings using programmable LED panels, featuring thousands of addressable RGB warm white LEDs. By collaborating with performers and dancers, we integrate A.I. and machine learning for movement tracking and sound recognition, creating an immersive multi-sensory experience. Our studio fosters collaboration among engineers, painters, coders, and performers, transcending the boundaries of analog and digital art forms.
As a member of our creative communications team, you will play a vital role in enhancing our studio's visibility through various channels, including social media and email outreach, both locally and internationally. Your efforts will aim to attract new art collectors, advisors, galleries, and institutions interested in our installations and performances. You will be responsible for designing and producing visual content for our communication platforms and managing updates and written content for our website.
Your specific tasks will include:
- Assisting in the construction of cognitive paintings and LED panels, involving woodwork, metalwork, and electrical tasks.
- Supporting the execution of contemporary exhibitions and commissions, from initial research and development through to installation.
- A background in Art & Communication, Filmmaking, Management, or a related field.
- A genuine passion for the art sector and a strong desire to learn and develop professionally.
- Skills in consulting, filming, writing, and editing.
- A keen interest in social media, particularly Instagram.
- A responsible team player with excellent communication abilities in English.
- Familiarity with ADOBE Creative Cloud and Google Workspace.
- Availability for 3-4 days a week, from 10 am to 5 pm.
- The capability to work independently and propose innovative ideas.

What We OfferThis internship provides an opportunity to learn about metal, wood, canvas, and electronics work, as well as organizing large-scale art exhibitions that blend performance, visual art, and rave culture. You will become part of a vibrant community. Although this is an unpaid position, it offers invaluable experience in production, communication, choreography, sound design, and more. This part-time internship spans six months, allowing for additional side projects, while offering significant responsibilities and the potential for long-term collaborations.
