Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer specializing in Golang to become a vital member of our Traffic Engineering team, dedicated to delivering exceptional experiences.

Team and Role Summary:

As a Platform Engineer within a global Traffic Management team that supports all Delivery Hero brands, your primary responsibility will be software engineering. You will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining user interfaces, APIs, and infrastructure tools designed to efficiently manage traffic resources and automations. This role offers a unique opportunity to tackle complex challenges, contribute to high-quality systems, and drive significant technological advancements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and sustain user interfaces, APIs, and infrastructure tools for managing traffic resources and automations.
  • Provide technical support to ensure the smooth operation and troubleshooting of traffic engineering components.
  • Implement and oversee Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to enhance and automate infrastructure management.
  • Manage and optimize the Global Service Mesh, API Gateways, SSL Certificates, Domain Management, Kubernetes Traffic Resources, and Cloud Networking Resources.
  • Mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Actively engage in technical discussions, contributing innovative ideas and driving technological enhancements through RFCs or other tools to facilitate decision-making for our solutions.
Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience with Service Mesh solutions (preferably Istio), API Gateways, and cloud networking.
  • Proficient in managing DNS and domain configurations.
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes and its traffic management resources.
  • Fluent in reading and writing Golang code.
  • Competent in cloud networking concepts and configurations.
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and methodologies.
  • Passionate about crafting simple solutions to complex engineering challenges and writing clean, maintainable, well-tested code.
  • Enthusiastic about new technologies and willing to mentor others.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in measuring, monitoring, and improving latency in complex traffic platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with the Open Application Model.
  • Previous involvement in managing a tech platform.
