Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer specializing in Golang to become a vital member of our Traffic Engineering team, dedicated to delivering exceptional user experiences.

Team and Role Summary:
As a key player in our Platform Engineering team, you will contribute to a global Traffic Management solution that supports all Delivery Hero brands worldwide. Your main responsibilities will revolve around software development, where you will be instrumental in creating and maintaining user interfaces, APIs, and infrastructure tools that facilitate efficient traffic resource management and automation. This role offers a unique chance to tackle complex challenges, enhance high-quality systems, and lead significant technological innovations.

  • Design and sustain user interfaces, APIs, and infrastructure tools for effective traffic resource management and automation.
  • Offer technical assistance to ensure the smooth operation and troubleshooting of traffic engineering components.
  • Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to optimize and automate infrastructure management.
  • Oversee and enhance the Global Service Mesh, API Gateways, SSL Certificates, Domain Management, Kubernetes Traffic Resources, and Cloud Networking Resources.
  • Guide and mentor junior team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Engage in technical discussions, contributing innovative ideas and driving technological enhancements through RFCs or other collaborative tools to shape the future of our solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with Service Mesh solutions (preferably Istio), API Gateways, and cloud networking.
  • Proficient in managing DNS and domain configurations.
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes and its traffic management resources.
  • Proficient in reading and writing Golang code.
  • Knowledgeable in cloud networking concepts and configurations.
  • Demonstrated experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and methodologies.
  • Committed to developing straightforward solutions to intricate engineering challenges and producing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Enthusiastic about new technologies and eager to mentor others.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in measuring, monitoring, and enhancing latency in complex traffic platforms.
  • Practical experience with the Open Application Model.
  • Previous experience in managing a technology platform.
