Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior EHS Manager to govern multiple projects and personnel in Frankfurt. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the EHS field, particularly in critical industries such as data centers, oil & gas, or pharmaceuticals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for general contractors, development delivery, and operational management.
  • Collaborate with the procurement department to participate in GC, TPRM, PQQ, and RFP processes.
  • Perform EHS site inspections and audits of GCs on the tender list for compliance.
  • Participate in the safety-in-design process, lead investigations of incidents and accidents, and support GC safety improvement plans.
  • Review and approve monthly EHS report compliance across designated projects.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to site EH&S Advisors and Managers on implementing and maintaining effective EH&S systems.
  • Conduct EHS onboarding for site EH&S Advisors and Managers, hold weekly one-on-one calls, and visit sites to monitor performance.
  • Promote VDC's Vision Zero culture of caring philosophy with respect to EH&S standards, behaviors, and performance.
  • Participate in bi-annual EHS Safety Management System Reviews to incorporate lessons learned and best practices.
Requirements
  • Experience in critical industries such as data centers, oil & gas, or pharmaceuticals.
  • Fluent in German with a comprehensive understanding of German EHS legislation.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise, speak, and present effectively to senior management.
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
