Head of Quality and HSE for Europe

We are looking for an experienced and driven Director of Quality and HSE for the European Division (m/f/d) to become a key member of our management team in the renewable energy and environmental sector. In this role, you will oversee and direct all quality, health, safety, and environmental initiatives across our organization and the European Division. Your leadership will be crucial in ensuring adherence to local, national, and international regulations while fostering best practices that cultivate a safe workplace and a culture committed to zero accidents.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and develop your QHSE Team along with members of the European Division Management Team, providing training on best practices and Nordex QHSE processes, while guiding them towards achieving set objectives. Drive the standardization of processes and performance benchmarks, fostering a preventive culture within the division, and ensuring that regional requirements align with global standards. Collaborate effectively with all stakeholders in the regions and at Headquarters, participating as a member of the Nordex HSE Leadership Team and the European Division Management Team. Continuously enhance our HSE strategies in close partnership with management, employees, and their representatives. Advocate for a zero-accident culture and implement global HSE awareness initiatives within the European Division, tailoring materials to fit divisional needs where necessary. Ensure timely and accurate HSE reporting from regions/countries, covering metrics such as hours worked, incidents, waste management, energy consumption, and sustainability efforts. Oversee quality assurance processes in the regions, ensuring compliance with standards set by Corporate Quality Management.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

A university degree in engineering, environmental science, occupational health and safety, or a related discipline. Over 10 years of experience in the wind energy sector or a similar industry with relevant QHSE standards. Demonstrated leadership experience in managing quality, health, safety, and environmental programs. Preferred completion of training as a safety specialist. Strong analytical skills, self-motivated, and results-driven. Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels. Proactive and independent work style with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. Proficiency in English is essential; additional languages such as German or Spanish are advantageous.
