Senior Risk Management Advisor

BDO Luxembourg is seeking a highly skilled Senior Risk Management Advisor to join our team in the Banking Sector. As a key member of our Risk Management Advisory team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance to our clients on risk management and regulatory compliance matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and follow up on various missions, focusing on risk management, regulatory, and compliance topics, as well as sustainable finance in the banking industry;
- Assist clients in preparing Regulatory Reporting (COREP, FINREP...);
- Conduct modeling and/or independent reviews and validation of risk models (PD, LGD, IRRBB, etc.) and related risk management processes;
- Set up, review, improve, and validate capital and liquidity management frameworks, including the internal capital/liquidity adequacy allocation process (IC/LAAP);
- Support credit institutions in setting up and reinforcing their crisis management arrangements, i.e., capital and liquidity contingency planning and recovery and resolution planning;
- Conduct gap analyses, materiality assessments, reports, and recommendations for clients on any risk management-related regulation in force;
- Develop a business offering based on client needs;
- Develop detailed project plans, anticipate risks, and plan mitigations ahead of time;
- Contribute to the preparation of proposals (project acquisition) to support business line development;
- Contribute to the management of relationships with clients;
- Assist and foster the development of the BDO Advisory Management Consulting offering;
- Be part of a dynamic and growing business line within BDO Luxembourg;
Requirements:
- Master's degree in management, finance, economics, or comparable professional education in relevant fields;
- 2-4 years of experience in the financial sector;
- Experience in risk management and deep knowledge of the banking regulatory environment in Luxembourg;
- Ability to manage multiple projects at a time and meet deadlines;
- Strong problem-solving skills, proactive, resourceful, and adaptable;
- Excellent communication skills and ability to express yourself precisely, coherently, and concisely;
- Autonomy and ability to work as part of a team;
- Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel framework, CRR/CRD, SREP, BRRD, EBA Guidelines, CSSF Circulars, etc.);
- Proficiency in MS-Office, VBA, Access, PowerBI; knowledge of SAS/R/Matlab/Python is a plus;
- Industry certifications (FRM, CFA, PRM, CAIA...);
- Fluency in English (written and oral); French or German is a great asset.
