Position Overview: The successful candidate will operate in a hybrid work environment, ideally located within a reasonable commuting distance of Berlin.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute financial period closing tasks and complex journal entries, along with accounting analysis.
- Conduct thorough Balance Sheet assessments and reviews, including account reconciliations.
- Manage daily recording of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable data (invoices, credit notes, etc.).
- Establish and generate Accounts Receivable invoices.
- Oversee the complete Accounts Payable process in collaboration with subsidiaries.
- Engage with vendors and customers regarding outstanding payments.
- Negotiate contract terms with vendors.
- Ensure timely customer payments and alignment of payment terms with contracts.
- Guarantee accurate and timely entry of all invoices in the ERP system.
- Handle intercompany transactions.
- Follow up with vendors/suppliers on missing invoices and take full responsibility for cost accruals in the Profit & Loss review.
- Process payments and bank transfers, ensuring proper approvals.
- Reconcile expense reports, credit card transactions, invoices, and inter-company dealings.
- Ensure adherence to key controls and procedures, implementing them where necessary.
- Prepare financial KPIs and verify their accuracy.
- Participate in audit engagements and compliance activities.
- Conduct ad-hoc performance analyses and management reporting.
- Assist in the financial integration of new acquisitions.
- Perform variance analysis comparing actual results to financial plans (budgets and forecasts).
- Support the Head of Finance in supervising junior accountants, including reviewing their work, coaching, and onboarding. Ensure the team meets deadlines.
- Engage in special projects as required.
Expected Deliverables:
- Oversee all Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes and checks on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Credit card reconciliations.
- Manage incoming payments to the bank account.
- Handle intercompany transactions.
Candidate Profile:
- Qualified Financial Accountant with a minimum of 3+ years of post-qualification experience in Financial Accounting or Audit.
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required.
- Fluency in both German and English, written and verbal, is essential.
- Certification as a Chartered Financial Accountant is required.
- Experience in a SaaS software environment is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with NetSuite is a plus.
- Experience with multi-currency and multi-divisional operations is advantageous.
- A professional qualification in bookkeeping and/or accounting is an asset.
- Proven expertise in accrual accounting theory and practice is desirable.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
- A detail-oriented self-starter who enjoys process improvement and problem-solving.
- A curious mindset, eager to learn new systems and grow professionally.
- A collaborative team player who embraces challenges and aims to take ownership of their responsibilities.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Germany.
