Optimus Search is seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager to spearhead a high-profile project

Our client, a leading technology company, is looking for a passionate and experienced Engineering Manager to build and lead a brand new greenfield project. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and creating an on-premise, air-tight cloud infrastructure system for one of the largest organizations in the industry.

As the Engineering Manager, you will have the opportunity to build and lead a team from the ground up, spearheading one of the biggest projects the company has ever seen. You will be responsible for recruiting, managing, and motivating your developers, coaching them for personal growth and development, and overseeing the development and operations of the new cloud system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of software engineers to build and run cloud infrastructure products and systems.
  • Plan and execute complex technical projects related to network products.
  • Collaborate with technical leads to contribute to the overall architecture, design, and development of products.
  • Manage project schedules and ensure successful product and feature rollouts.
  • Recruit, coach, and mentor software engineers, and develop processes to improve team performance and quality.
  • Create a healthy team culture with transparent communication.
  • Provide coaching and counselling through mentoring and one-to-one meetings.
  • Plan and conduct training for the engineering team.

Requirements:

  • Several years of experience in technical management.
  • Extensive experience with Golang, deep Kubernetes knowledge, and Cloud Native Technologies.
  • Extensive knowledge and willingness to focus sprints and sub-projects on operations and reliability.
  • Good Knowledge of DevOps, K8s, load balancers, GitOps, CI/CD, and APIs.
  • Strong leadership skills, including managing and mentoring software engineers.
  • Experienced in continuously shipping products and coordinating releases.
  • Strong collaboration skills, including cross-functional team collaboration and working with stakeholders from engineering, operations, support, and product teams.
  • Strong experience with building high-quality products based on end-to-end automated testing.
  • Experienced in attracting, recruiting, and retaining talent.
