About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Environmental Health Specialist to join our team at Amazon Deutschland Transport GmbH - B78. As a key member of our Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) team, you will play a crucial role in driving improvements in our safety culture and ensuring compliance with local Health and Safety legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage health and safety standards and improve functionality and efficiency
  • Implement changes in response to employee feedback or seize opportunities to continuously make process improvements
  • Provide guidance and arrangements for health and safety projects and policies
  • Drive programmes to improve technical equipment specifications and designs within Amazon
  • Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders across the company to achieve safety-related goals
About the Team

Our WHS team works closely with managers, associates, and local governments across our sites to ensure compliance with Amazon's policies and legal regulations. We are a people-focused and supportive team, particularly as many of our people work through the night. We focus on operations, with 24/7 shifts in most of our locations.

Requirements
  • Education to a degree level and "Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit" certification
  • Professional training (Abgeschlossene Berufsausbildung) in a technical profession, preferably mechatronics or electrics
  • Relevant experience managing projects and complying with local Health and Safety legislation
  • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and German
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Lean, 5S, and Kaizen methodologies
  • Qualifications or experience in the field of sustainability
  • Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadership
  • Chartered membership of a Human Resources industry body (e.g., IOSH) to support people management
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems
