At our subsidiary, ICT Integrated Circuit Testing GmbH, we are a collective of innovators comprising around 150 professionals. Our mission centers on the design and production of electron microscopy columns, which are critical components of our machinery utilized for defect inspection and size measurement in semiconductors. To enhance our state-of-the-art electron microscopes, we are in search of a proficient Mechanical Engineer (m/w/d) with a strong background in mechanical design and exceptional analytical/problem-solving skills. This position entails leading the design and development of parts, assemblies, modules, and final configurations of the electron microscope along with its associated hardware requirements.
About Our Team:
The R&D Team is dedicated to creating advanced machinery for electron optic microscopy, which plays a crucial role in the analysis of semiconductor wafers throughout the microchip manufacturing process.
Your Responsibilities:
- Developing mechanical designs for highly accurate optomechanical systems within cleanroom settings, including high voltage designs, vacuum systems, and cooling systems.
- Producing technical drawings and selecting appropriate fabrication methods based on requirements, materials, and finishing standards, while ensuring a thorough understanding of form and positional tolerances, as well as conducting detailed tolerance analyses.
- Planning and executing experimental procedures.
- Performing Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) simulations and analyses to validate designs and troubleshoot issues.
- Managing the mechanical aspects throughout the development lifecycle, conducting design assessments, and collaborating with team members from various disciplines such as Optics, Physics, Control, Electronics, Software, Project Management, Assembly, Testing, and suppliers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering/Precision Engineering or an equivalent qualification with a minimum of 5-7 years of relevant professional experience.
- Fluency in both German and English, written and spoken.
- Extensive experience with CAD software (Computer Aided Design).
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and tolerance chain analysis.
- Familiarity with tools such as Inventor, TeamCenter, and System Analysis Program Development (SAP) or similar applications is a plus.
- A collaborative team player capable of working in large, interdisciplinary teams, possessing excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient in CAE software for structural, modal, thermal, and flow analyses.
Your Strengths:
- Expertise in mechanical designs for high precision optomechanical systems in cleanroom environments, high voltage design, and vacuum system cooling systems.
- Ability to create technical drawings, specify manufacturing techniques, materials, and finishing standards with detailed Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and execute complex tolerance analyses.
- Experience in designing and conducting experiments.
- Capability to perform CAE simulations and analyses to validate designs and resolve issues.
- Leadership in the mechanical components of the development process, facilitating design reviews, and collaborating with team members from diverse fields such as Optics, Physics, Control, Electronics, Software, Project Management, Production, and technical support, as well as suppliers.
