We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to take on the role of a technical project leader within our organization.
About Us
Molex integrates innovation and technology to provide electronic solutions globally. Operating in over 40 countries, we deliver a comprehensive range of solutions and services across various sectors, including data communications, consumer electronics, industrial applications, automotive, commercial vehicles, and medical fields.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the development of new automotive antenna projects from initial concept through to mass production.
- Generate 3D CAD models and create standard-compliant technical drawings utilizing CATIA V5.
- Expertly design components (including plastic, zinc die-casting, aluminum die-casting, and sheet metal parts), and manage the assembly and parts list creation.
- Collaborate directly with customers and internal teams to ascertain requirements, establish design expectations, and achieve agreed-upon design, performance, and project goals.
- Coordinate internally with our production facility in Dongguan, China.
- Manage activities related to the evaluation of assemblies and components from various sample series, including their technical assessments.
- Execute project tasks to guarantee the seamless launch of products for production, ensuring alignment with customer specifications and established timelines.
- Initiate and apply methodologies and simulations, such as DFMEA, FEM, DFM, and tolerance analysis, utilizing outcomes to enhance design and mitigate risks prior to production.
Qualifications
- Completed degree in mechanical engineering, vehicle technology, or a related discipline.
- Several years of relevant experience as a mechanical engineer or in automotive technology.
- Strong design expertise: proficient in CAD systems (Catia V5); knowledgeable in finite element methodology; experienced in tolerance analysis; skilled in designing plastic, zinc & aluminum die-cast, and sheet metal components, as well as electronic modules.
- Excellent communication skills in both German and English.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues and both internal and external stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel as required.
