Job Responsibilities

As a Global Embedded Systems Architect, you will be responsible for the design and support of the overarching architecture of our embedded software platforms and systems.

You will lead DevOps teams to ensure uniform software implementation that aligns with the architectural framework, fostering shared interfaces and effective module reuse from electronic controllers to cloud interfaces.

Your extensive expertise and business acumen will position you to drive, direct, and harmonize the modular design of embedded software across the entire business sector and beyond, collaborating with Architects throughout the Climate Solutions Segment.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Defining software modules and interfaces for embedded platforms (RTOS and Linux-based)
  • Establishing standard interfaces between products and systems.
  • Offering guidance in the selection, integration, and modularization of software components.
  • Advising on the reuse of components/interfaces across various projects.
  • Coordinating technical solutions developed by international R&D DevOps teams.
  • Collaborating with external partners, consultants, customers, and IT departments.
  • Utilizing structured tools (e.g., UML) to document architecture.
  • Defining testing strategies to ensure software quality.
  • Ensuring product security.

Background & Skills

You possess a robust understanding of system architecture in embedded software, with preferred experience in collaboration with international teams and external design partners. You have a solid grasp of Linux frameworks and experience working with edge systems.

Your analytical skills are strong, and you maintain a positive and open attitude towards cooperation across borders and cultures in an organization that values mutual support. You thrive in a multicultural environment and adopt a results-driven approach.

You are adept at translating business requirements into a scalable, resilient, and secure architecture. Additionally, you can communicate both technical and business concepts clearly and concisely. You excel in building relationships, identifying opportunities rather than obstacles, and embodying a proactive attitude.

Furthermore, you possess:

  • An educational background in Electronics, Information Technology, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in standard architectural description languages such as UML.
  • Experience in designing complex system architectures.
  • Proven experience with RTOS and Linux-based embedded electronics, including the development and troubleshooting of industrial communication protocols like Modbus, CANbus, HTTPS, MQTT, and BACNet.
  • Familiarity with the Agile SCRUM process.
  • Experience in system-level design and implementation of commercial software applications.
  • A customer-oriented mindset.
  • A modern leadership style to coordinate multicultural teams.
  • Proficiency in English and Italian (both written and spoken); knowledge of German or Danish is a plus.
