Senior Customer Projects Manager

Your Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and driven Senior Manager of Customer Projects. In this position, you will be tasked with initiating, directing, and executing significant operational initiatives within the ZEISS Shared Production Unit, ensuring alignment with both internal and external customer requirements. This includes overseeing product ramp-ups, new product launches, production transfers, and economic optimizations. You will be accountable for the successful implementation of these initiatives, acting as the primary contact for both ZEISS internal teams and external clients, including senior management.

  • Define, scope, structure, and lead strategic and operational initiatives in collaboration with ZEISS Strategic Business Units, external clients, and the entire Shared Production Unit team.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all initiatives, ensuring successful delivery and representing these projects to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee project management to guarantee successful outcomes.
  • Bring innovative perspectives to your initiatives to identify optimal solutions in a multi-stakeholder environment.

Your Profile

  • A degree in sciences, technology, engineering, mathematics, economics, or a related field with outstanding academic performance.
  • Over 7 years of relevant experience in management consulting, project management, corporate strategy, operations, or sales/key account management within ZEISS-related sectors.
  • A proven track record in customer-facing roles such as consulting, sales, or key account management.
  • Prior experience in operations, production engineering, or R&D in industries related to ZEISS.
  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset with strategic thinking and a solution-oriented approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects within a matrix organization.
  • Experience in strategic roles showcasing analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with all organizational levels and achieve consensus in complex stakeholder environments.
  • Strong lateral leadership skills.
  • Fluency in English and German.
