Job Overview
Are you enthusiastic about streamlining database operations and delivering efficient self-service options? Do you excel in scripting and enhancing workflows? We are seeking a skilled Database Automation Engineer (m/f/d) to become a part of our global team.
Your Role
You will play a key role in automating daily tasks within our highly standardized database framework. We provide database services for PostgreSQL and enable operational tasks as self-service solutions for our internal stakeholders.
Your Responsibilities
- Design and execute scripts and workflows to automate recurring administrative functions such as: creating, deleting, and patching databases; managing user accounts; performing database switchovers; and executing database upgrades.
- Develop self-service tools for internal stakeholders to independently manage database operations.
- Evaluate and enhance existing self-service tools, workflows, and scripts to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Document the automation solutions and self-service processes you develop and maintain.
Your Skills and Experiences
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or PowerShell, with a foundational understanding of databases in general and PostgreSQL specifically. Familiarity with MySQL would be an advantage.
- Experience with Ansible and AWX is essential.
- Familiarity with technologies such as Terraform, Jenkins, Java, Groovy, Perl, VMWare Orchestrator, and GIT is desirable.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in the context of optimizing automation solutions.
- Self-driven with the capability to independently address challenges and adhere to deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within the team, across departments, and with international teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
