Postdoctoral Researcher in Political Communication at the University of Zurich

About the Position
The University of Zurich is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team in the Department of Communication Science. As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will play a key role in advancing our understanding of the role of political social media influencers in shaping public discourse and engagement.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and publish high-quality research in leading communication journals and at international conferences
- Develop and lead research projects on the influence of political social media influencers on public discourse and engagement
- Collaborate with other project members and research assistants to achieve project goals
- Provide support for project-related management and administrative tasks
Requirements
- A very good doctoral degree in communication science or an adjacent field (e.g. political science, sociology, social computing) with an interest in political communication and computational social science
- Experience with computational text analysis methods, including large language models
- Strong programming skills in R and/or Python
- Analytical skills and capacity for independent, internationally visible research
- Enthusiasm for working in teams
- Strong command of English
