Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Assistant to join our team at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal. The successful candidate will be part of a research project focused on developing new nanoparticle-modified powder materials for additive manufacturing.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent research on the production of metallic and ceramic nanoparticles using laser ablation in liquids.
  • Process nanoparticles into composites for 3D printing and perform comprehensive analytics.
  • Collaborate with research partners in Düsseldorf to utilize complex analytical equipment.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, take on organizational tasks, and participate in regular meetings and information exchange.
  • Document, publish, and present scientific research results.
  • Develop and pursue new research approaches in the field of materials development.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in materials science, chemistry, or a related field.
  • Excellent knowledge of nanomaterials and materials science.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with experience in complex systems and equipment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Very good English language skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Knowledge of laser material processing and optics.
  • Experience in scanning electron microscopy and associated sample preparation.
  • German language skills.
