As the Energy / Utilities Industry Lead, you will collaborate with a diverse team of analysts across various locations. Your focus will be on ESG Ratings, which includes analyzing companies, reviewing analysts' work, authoring sector research, and refining existing research models or developing new ones. Regular publication of high-quality research content, such as industry trends and insights on companies and sectors for investors, is essential. This role also involves frequent client meetings to discuss research themes and present our ESG ratings model in detail. Our team consists of analysts with diverse backgrounds, and we value collaboration and a culture of learning and sharing to continuously enhance our expertise.
- Ensure the integrity of our ESG Ratings for the Energy / Utilities sector (Oil & Gas, Energy Equipment & Services, Utilities).
- Consistently publish high-quality research content and analyze emerging ESG issues.
- Provide relevant, actionable insights on companies to investors, establishing yourself as a trusted expert on core ESG topics.
- Represent MSCI as a credible thought leader at conferences, external events, and strategic client meetings.
- Collaborate with various teams (industry analysts, equity research, multi-asset class research, climate change risk research, index, analytics) to create innovative analytical models.
- Continuously enhance our methodologies for assessing ESG risks and developing solutions for global investors.
- 5+ years of experience in ESG research or financial analysis within sell-side, buy-side, ratings agencies, NGOs, or academic research focused on the Energy / Utilities sector.
- Comprehensive understanding of sustainability principles and their application within the Energy / Utilities sector.
- Familiarity with emerging initiatives relevant to the Energy / Utilities sector. A critical thinker with attention to detail and proficiency in financial modeling and quantitative analysis is preferred.
- Exceptional storytelling abilities with strong writing, communication, and public presentation skills.
