Research Associate in Protein Engineering

Join a dynamic and enthusiastic team at our research facility. Collaborating with academic and industrial partners, you will engage in the advancement of diagnostic and therapeutic solutions while contributing to scientific literature. Your primary focus will be on the generation and analysis of recombinant proteins under BSL-2 safety protocols. You will manage the complete process from construct design to molecular cloning, production in various host systems, purification, and biophysical characterization, including interaction studies.
Qualifications
- Doctorate in biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of protein chemistry, including computational structure prediction and engineering methodologies
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in recombinant protein production utilizing advanced cloning and purification techniques; familiarity with viral proteins and/or antibodies is a plus
- Proficiency in one or more biophysical techniques such as DLS, SEC-MALS, or MST
- A curious, innovative, and adaptable mindset with a strong drive to implement new technologies, including AI-based protein design
- Ability to work independently and in a structured manner, with a commitment to professional development
- Excellent communication and writing skills in both English and German
- Strong collaborative spirit and a high level of motivation to work within an interdisciplinary team in the life sciences
