Overview of the Role

As a Project Manager at Global Blue, the individual will be responsible for defining and steering designated projects as directed by the Managing Director for Germany, ensuring that the solutions developed are in alignment with the strategic objectives of the organization.

In addition, the Project Manager will assist the Managing Director in various capacities, which may include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating the preparation of Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs), Annual Business Reviews (ABRs), and other necessary presentations;
  • Participating in MBRs/ABRs and documenting minutes;
  • Following up on a diverse range of topics to support the Managing Director and senior management team as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the complete lifecycle of projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closing.
  • Support the Managing Director in achieving the company's objectives.
  • Develop a financial business case and analyze problems and opportunities to prepare estimates for approval.
  • Adhere to a defined budget from the outset, tracking and reporting project costs to ensure objectives are met.
  • Potentially lead a geographically dispersed team throughout the project lifecycle, including setting objectives and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and service providers.
  • Manage external suppliers, collaborating closely with Supply Chain Services for appropriate supplier selection.
  • Rigorously manage project scope through a structured change management process to ensure commitments are fulfilled within agreed time, cost, and quality parameters, focusing on delivering business benefits.
  • Create and validate financial forecasts, providing ongoing reconciliation of resources and expenditures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery with quality and consistency.
  • Maintain overall accountability and end-to-end delivery management for a set of related initiatives as defined by the business and portfolio framework.
  • Develop and execute stakeholder change and communication plans to ensure stakeholders are prepared to leverage the new operational business environment once implemented.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to validate the project's strategic business case, define success metrics and criteria, and identify, measure, and sustain planned versus achieved benefits. Proactively seek additional benefits through existing systems, processes, and data.
  • Identify and address major factors, assumptions, and risks that may impact project direction and success, adjusting the project approach as needed to enhance the delivery of intended benefits.
