About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and technical Field Application Engineer to join our team at microTECH Global LTD. As a key member of our sales and technical support team, you will play a crucial role in driving sales and technical support for our industry-leading EV fast charger power electronics solutions across the EMEA region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Expertise: Provide in-depth technical expertise to customers regarding EV charging system applications, power supply marketplace dynamics, competitor offerings, and industry trends.
  • Customer Support: Support existing and potential customers by offering technical guidance, identifying new opportunities, and ensuring successful product qualification.
  • Customer Advocacy: Serve as a customer advocate, effectively communicating customer needs, product gaps, and concerns to senior management.
  • Training and Development: Deliver training sessions to field sales personnel, empowering them with the technical knowledge to excel in their roles.
  • Product Development: Work collaboratively with product management to shape product roadmaps, present solutions to customers, and provide valuable feedback.
  • Market Analysis: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of market trends, competitive landscape, product requirements, and customer needs.
  • Collaboration: Partner with R&D to define new product features, participate in technical documentation creation, and contribute to product presentations.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in solving complex technical challenges, providing exceptional customer support, and leveraging technical expertise to deliver value in the power electronics or related fields (battery charging, system integration, power systems, or control systems).
  • Travel: Ability to travel extensively (minimum 40% of the time).
  • Language: Fluency in English (written and oral communication).
Desired Skills
  • Industry Knowledge: Prior experience collaborating with customers on embedded applications and within the EV charging industry.
  • Technical Skills: Strong reading comprehension of technical specifications, working knowledge of DC charging system power architecture and competitor landscape, experience in offering system-level solutions (cabinets, shelves, rectifiers, and controllers).
  • Language Skills: Fluency in French, Italian, or Spanish (a plus).
  • Advanced Education: Advanced engineering or technical degree (preferred).
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, sales enablement tools, and CRM platforms (experience a plus).
  • Engineering Knowledge: Understanding of staged-gate engineering development processes, solid foundation in power electronics principles (AC/DC and DC/DC topologies, analog and power supply circuit design approaches, integration of AC/DC and DC/DC products within OEM systems, digital interface protocols like I2C, CANbus, and PMBus).
  • Industry Standards: Knowledge of agency requirements for power conversion products (safety standards, EMI standards, input surge requirements, and harmonics standards – UL 1012, EN61000 systems).
  • Lab Equipment: Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, and spectrum analyzers).
  • Adaptability: Ability to grasp and implement customer and industry standards.
