Mechanisms and Robotics Engineer Internship

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled intern to join our Mechanisms and Robotics team in Oberpfaffenhofen. As an intern, you will be responsible for setting up a permanent motor test stand for various types of actuators commonly used in space mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a conceptual and functional design for the test stand
  • Source and procure commercial components, including actuator drivers, sensors, and brakes
  • Implement existing measurement equipment, including torque sensors
  • Program a common control GUI
  • Conduct tests to provide input for correlation with existing actuator performance models
  • Prepare documentation and maintain a laboratory for integration and test of mechanisms and breadboard models
  • Support the Mechanisms & Robotics team

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in engineering studies, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or similar
  • Apprenticeship as precision mechanic, industrial mechanic, electronics technician, or similar is a plus but not mandatory
  • Basic knowledge in API programming
  • Ability to understand, characterize, and size electromechanical systems
  • Good English skills, both written and spoken
  • Knowledge of MS Office tools
