Chief AccountantPosition Overview

As a pivotal member of the finance team at Finow Rohrsysteme GmbH, you will oversee the financial integrity of our operations. Your expertise will guide the accounting department in maintaining compliance with established standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and evaluate financial statements and reports in accordance with German GAAP (HGB).
  • Operational Oversight: Assist in managing daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Department Management: Supervise the daily activities of the accounting team, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and internal controls.
  • Account Reconciliation: Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records through diligent account reconciliations.
  • Closing Processes: Guarantee timely and precise month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
  • Audit Coordination: Manage audit processes and collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and uphold internal controls to protect assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Policy Development: Assist in formulating and maintaining accounting policies and procedures.
  • Team Development: Mentor and supervise accounting personnel, fostering professional growth.
  • Regulatory Awareness: Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and standards.
  • Process Improvement: Evaluate efficiency, propose enhancements, and implement improvements in accounting processes and risk management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, Steuerberater) is highly regarded.
  • 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.
  • Thorough understanding of German GAAP (HGB).
  • Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., MS Dynamics 365) and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Fluency in German and English at an intermediate or higher level (B2-C1).
  • High integrity and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector.
  • Familiarity with German tax regulations.
  • Proficient in financial software and reporting tools.
