Your Role
The Molex team is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager (m/f/d) with extensive experience in automotive product innovation and a proven track record in leading both local and remote engineering teams. In this pivotal position, you will guide our automotive engineering group, requiring a combination of technical knowledge, leadership capabilities, effective communication, and project management skills to foster innovation and excellence in product design and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
· Direct and oversee a team of mechanical engineers and designers in the lifecycle of automotive product development from initial concept through to production.
· Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, procurement, and sales, to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and customer expectations.
· Supervise the design of mechanical components and systems, ensuring they achieve performance, cost, manufacturability, and reliability benchmarks.
· Utilize expertise in molding processes, sheet metal fabrication, thermal management, and other relevant technologies to develop robust designs.
· Perform thermal and structural simulations to validate designs and ensure adherence to industry standards.
· Champion continuous improvement initiatives in design methodologies, processes, and tools to boost team productivity and product quality.
· Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to guarantee the timely achievement of project milestones.
· Provide technical mentorship and guidance to team members, promoting a culture of innovation and professional development.
· Engage with suppliers and vendors to select materials and components, considering factors such as cost, quality, and sustainability.
· Prepare and review technical documentation, including design specifications, testing protocols, and validation reports.
· Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory standards.
· Participate in design evaluations, risk assessments, and root cause analyses to support effective product development.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
· At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design and product development within the automotive field.
· Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
· Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL).
Preferred Qualifications
· Familiarity with automotive industry standards and best practices.
· Experience in design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
· Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strong analytical mindset.
· Strong communication skills in both German and English, with the capacity to convey complex technical concepts effectively.
