Compensation: $37,440 - $48,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience

Reporting To: Childcare Director
Location: CYC Sidney Epstein Center
Work Schedule: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday; schedule may vary based on program requirements
Role Overview: The Assistant Teacher plays a crucial role in fostering a nurturing environment that supports children's growth across various developmental domains: physical, social-emotional, and cognitive. Collaborating with lead teachers, this position emphasizes the importance of engaging parents in their children's educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate a supportive learning atmosphere that encourages holistic development in children.
- Conduct developmental screenings and maintain accurate records of each child's progress.
- Create and implement individualized and group activities tailored to children's needs.
- Assist in crafting weekly educational plans that align with the program's objectives.
- Help organize daily schedules based on the educational focus set by the Educational Coordinator.
- Participate in assessments to evaluate children's growth and development.
- Collaborate with social service staff to develop tailored service plans for children.
- Monitor and document children's behavior and development in the classroom.
- Engage with families through home visits and conferences to discuss children's progress.
- Encourage parental involvement and volunteerism in center activities.

Qualifications:
- An Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, or a BA Degree with at least 30 credit hours in Early Childhood Education.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience, along with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
