Cloud Security Engineer - Java - Frankfurt EUR

As a Cloud Security Engineer at Optimus Search, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our clients' applications within the financial sector.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining essential software solutions.
  • Upholding a high standard of security and coding practices to ensure the integrity of our clients' applications.
  • Daily engagement with infrastructure using Terraform to ensure seamless deployment and management of cloud-based systems.
  • Establishing and advocating the adoption of best practices throughout the software engineering life cycle to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Managing cloud technologies, with a focus on AWS and CloudFormation, to ensure scalability and reliability.
  • Collaborating within a self-organizing and cross-functional Agile team to drive innovation and excellence.
  • Implementing Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) approaches to embed quality into the implementation process.
  • Providing mentorship to junior software engineers to ensure knowledge sharing and growth.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

To thrive in this role, a successful Cloud Security Engineer will possess:

  • Commercial experience as a software engineer, DevOps engineer, or security engineer.
  • Significant experience or a keen interest in Security within software development.
  • Proficiency in Terraform, showcasing your ability to navigate and utilize this crucial tool.
  • In-depth experience with AWS and cloud technologies, demonstrating your expertise in cloud-based solutions.
  • Familiarity with Java, showcasing your versatility in programming languages.
  • Experience with Spring Boot and the Spring framework.
  • Proficiency in Python, or a relevant programming language, highlighting your programming prowess.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Fluency in English, with German language skills a bonus.
  • A genuine passion for both DevOps and security, demonstrating your commitment to staying at the forefront of industry best practices.
