Biosimilars Medical Liaison Manager (f/m/d) for Eastern Germany
Key Regions: Rostock, Schwerin, Neubrandenburg, Magdeburg, Berlin, Leipzig, Dresden, Cottbus, Erfurt, Chemnitz
Role Summary
The Medical Liaison Manager (MLM) serves as a pivotal hybrid role combining responsibilities of a Medical Manager and a field-based Medical Scientific Liaison, focusing on both regional and national objectives. This position is crucial for implementing the country’s medical affairs strategies and delivering comprehensive clinical, scientific, and technical educational initiatives to healthcare professionals, patient organizations, and payers. The MLM will create national scientific content for external communications and support Biogen’s ongoing biosimilars research initiatives, including clinical research and Real World Data Generation. Additionally, the MLM will cultivate long-term relationships with key medical experts and stakeholders in therapeutic areas where Biogen is active. The role may involve travel up to 50% of the time, including overnight and occasional weekend trips, as required by business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain expertise in relevant therapeutic areas and emerging disease states.
- Collaborate with medical affairs, clinical development, and commercial teams, serving as a resource for healthcare professionals, large medical practices, payers, and formulary decision-makers.
- Support training initiatives for Biogen’s Biosimilars field and home office teams.
- Provide insights and feedback to medical and clinical teams based on interactions with Key Medical Experts and investigators; proactively inform other departments about treatment pattern trends.
- Address and document unsolicited inquiries regarding Biogen’s Biosimilars products and clinical programs in alignment with respective functions.
- Enhance the visibility of medical affairs by assisting the medical lead in executing national projects and initiatives.
- Support national requests for dossier reviews, medical evaluations, and potential business development opportunities, including advisory board meetings and educational activities.
- Engage in scientific exchanges with the medical community, representing the company at medical meetings and congresses.
- Assist in the identification, training, and evaluation of speakers, and provide support for advisory board meetings as needed.
- Develop and maintain engagement plans for key medical experts, fostering long-term collaborative relationships within the assigned region.
- Facilitate research collaborations, including Real World Evidence generation and investigator-initiated trials, with key investigators.
- Collaborate with Market Access & Reimbursement and Commercial teams for engagement with key medical experts, healthcare professionals, and institutions, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is an adaptable medical professional with a robust scientific background, ready to embrace challenges in a dynamic environment. With an approachable and people-oriented demeanor, you will effectively build and nurture reliable relationships with stakeholders, providing top-tier medical support at regional, national, or international levels.
Required Qualifications
- An advanced scientific or clinical degree is required; PharmD, PhD, or MD is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, CRO, or academic research.
- Prior experience as a Medical Scientific Liaison and/or Medical Manager is advantageous.
- Therapeutic area experience or knowledge is preferred.
- Proficient in English (understanding, writing, and speaking).
